The following are some of the most common plumbing issues:

Dripping faucets waste water and raise the water bill.  Some of the reasons for these drips can be a worn-out washer or O ring. Sometimes it’s caused by corrosion or even improper faucet installation can be the problem causing the drip.

If your faucet is dripping, let our expert plumbers diagnose and fix your drip!

LEAKY PIPES

Leaky pipes can be caused by all sorts of problems, including stubborn clogs, pipe corrosion, improper installation, joint damage, cracked seals or cracked pipes and even high water pressure. No matter the cause, this common plumbing problem needs to be fixed quickly! The longer leaky pipes are ignored, the more damage they can cause—both to your plumbing system and to your home itself!

RUNNING TOILETS

Did you know that a running toilet can waste up to 200 gallons per day? That’s a lot of water waste! In most cases, the issues behind a running toilet include; fill valve problems, worn out flappers, seals or flush valves and corrosion.

LOW WATER PRESSURE

Low water pressure can make it challenging to use pretty much any plumbing system in your home! Often, this is a symptom of bigger plumbing problems, such as pipe corrosion and hidden water leaks.

LEAKING HOSE BIBB

A leaking hose bibb is very common year round, but especially in early spring.  After a long, cold winter, many hose bibbs that aren’t protected can crack and begin to leak, sometimes causing extensive damage inside of your home.  We advise our customers to invest in a frost-proof hose bibb, which can reduce the chances of having leaks.

SLOW OR CLOGGED DRAINS

Drainage problems can potentially be plumbing disasters if they’re not addressed quickly!
One slow or clogged drain typically indicates that the problem is localized to that specific area of the home.  These clogs are commonly caused by hair, oils and soaps, and other foreign objects that have built up in the drain over a period of time.  The ideal solution for addressing the issue is routine drain cleaning.  You can either do this yourself or let us help you.  Bert’s WaterWorks has easy drain cleaning options available for the consumer to purchase in our plumbing store in American Fork, Utah. Or you can call us to have one of our qualified plumbers perform the maintenance for you.
Multiple slow or clogged drains are a sign that you have a problem in your main sewer line, which could lead to a sewage backup.  To prevent your sewer from backing up into your home, it’s important for you to call Bert’s Waterworks whenever you notice multiple slow drains in your home, especially if the problem begins in the lowest area of your home.

SUMP PUMP FAILURE

Sump pump failure can be related to a problem with the unit itself or can be an external issue.  Some of the common sump pump issues are caused by stuck switches, excessive amounts of water– including heavy rain, Clogged discharge lines, improper installation of sump pump, age of pump.  Sump pumps close to ten years old are prone to failure.

WATER HEATER PROBLEMS

Hot water is a necessity!  If your water heater can’t provide enough or any hot water, homeowners can be dealing with a plumbing crisis. Some of the more common water heater issues are typically caused by corrosion or sediment buildup in water heater tanks, failed controls or elements, and improper water heater installation.
